Good Times

It's official. I don't see my friends near enough and I'm probably the worst friend that has walked this Earth.   I love these girls so much and it breaks my heart that we only get together maybe once a month, if that.  A couple weeks ago we finally broke down and went out to lunch to celebrate Marci getting her Master's degree!! Woot Woot! and Laura getting her Nursing degree and an amazing job at Primary Children's. I pretty much have the smartest friends ever.

The Dodo was really good and we were able to sit outside and roast our bums off in the warm sunshine.  This weather is officially the best weather that Spring in Utah has ever seen.

After a great lunch with my girlies, I decided I was in a bit of a crafty mood.  So I headed off to Hobby Lobby.  About an hour or so later, this was what I had come up with....

Nothing special, but my craftiness is still a work in progress. At least I'm trying right?

To finish off what had already been a great day, the Hubs and I enjoyed a yummy dinner at Porcupine Grill, outside in the somewhat warm spring air, watching the sunset.

Doesn't get much better than that!!

Sunshine and Summertime

I think Nick and I have been getting a little cabin fever. I know winter wasn't even that long or cold this year but we definitely felt the need to get out and enjoy the sunshine today. And we did just that.
We started the day with a friendly game of Tennis. We played two sets and Nick beat me both times. But I definitely gave him a run for his money! Or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

We then came home and decided to have ourselves an afternoon BBQ. We grilled up some Hot Dogs and Tater Tots and ate outside in the warm sun. Of course I didn't catch any pictures of that. But it was amazing.

After we relaxed outside for a while, Nick decided he wanted to hit a bucket of balls so off to the golf course we went! I suck at golf and get super frustrated when I try to play, but it was fun watching Nick do his thing. And might I add that he looked mighty fine doing it!

My pathetic attempt at trying to hit the ball.

It was a great way to kick off the Spring/Summer!!

Two years!

For our 2nd wedding Anniversary, it was up to me to plan it. I made a deal with Nick that we would take turns planning our wedding anniversaries because he was NOT okay doing them all himself. Fine Fine.. I guess I can see why. There was only one problem... I SUCK at planning anything. I have Zero Creativity, and I mean Zero. But I was determined for us to have a good time.

I made Reservations at The Sheraton Hotel Downtown so that we could have a nice weekend all to ourselves. We walked around at the gateway for a while (Luckily the weather was AWESOME). After walking around gateway, we headed back to our hotel room to get ready for dinner. I made reservations at The Melting Pot. Little did I know that you need to make reservations like a week in advance if you want to eat dinner at a reasonable hour. When I called the day of, they said the only times they had left were for 9:30p or later... SAY WHAT!! Luckily Nick is a trooper so we just decided to just go for it since I had never eaten there before.

It was definitely worth the wait!! The food was amazing!!

The next morning we went out to Breakfast and then went to see the movie "The Vow" which was pretty cute. I cried the entire time. Of course.
But Nick was So sweet to go see the Chick Flick with me! I just love him to death and we had the BEST Anniversary Yet! Can't wait for many more years to come!

Our 2nd Thanksgiving Together!

Nick and I were able to find some dirt cheap flights to Raliegh, NC over Thanksgiving so we jumped on the opportunity to go see Nick's family! We told everyone we were coming, except Nick's mom. She had no idea. And of course, Nick and his dad had to make sure we surprised her in a very memorable way. We arrived at 1am, rented a car, and headed to his parents house. We staged a break in and his dad came running down with his gun. Jim had set up fire crackers so when he came down with his gun, Nick set off the fire crackers and they totally sounded like real gun shots. Lets just say that Kim thought she was going to be cleaning up blood in her kitchen and having to stash some bodies in the woods behind the house.

We had such a fun time while we were there! We started off by sleeping in unti 1pm and then headed to a UNC Basketball game (Nick's favorite team). It was only Nick's 2nd time ever going to a game.

Jim can't seem to take a serious picture. Now I know where Nick gets it from.

Yummy Food at Spanky's!

One day, Nick WILL be a TarHeel

We then headed East so that I could see some Beach! I've decided that we need to live by the ocean some day.
The weather was perfect every day! 75 degrees and sunny

Nick and his AWESOME parents! I Just love them!

We walked out to the very point of the beach. This is where the Ocean and the Sound meet.

Nick and his Dad are amazing friends and it was so great for them to be able to spend some time together!

Ah-Mazing sunset...

Took Daisy out for a walk around the Lake by Nick's parent's house.

We woke up at 5am to drive out to Ashville, NC (4 hours away) so we could check out the Biltmore Estate. I fell asleep the second we got on the road.

Proof that North Carolina DOES have Moutains!

The Biltmore Estate! the Largest private residence in the Country. (you may recognize it from Richie Rich) This place was unreal. These pictures don't do it justice.

Overlooking the 8,000 acres of land that it sits on.

View from the side of the house

A lake that was on the property

Driving home from Ashville, we decided to take a detour and stop in Charolette, NC.

Dowtown Charolette was awesome, there were people everywhere and the sky scrapers were to die for. Nick says he wants to live there some day. I don't know if I loved it THAT much.
But I could definitely live in Raliegh!

We missed our doggies while we were gone but they were having a blast at a dog Kennel in Kamas, UT.
